I bought this guy sold as CAE from my lfs...looks like some species of loach but not sure which species. What is this loach?

Looks like a washed out Nemacheilus pallidus or Nemacheilus masyai. I moved your thread as it is a loach and not a CAE.

Scientific name? Common names are invalid with schisturas and nemacheilus. There are many species that share the same common name.
