ID this fish

[Fingerling]

Just brought this guy home 6 hrs ago.

The shopkeeper told me its a channa sp platinum , so i paid quite abit for this specimen even knowing that highly likely it might not be one ( kinda like the look of this channa when i saw it ). The fins are a deep blue and change to transparent from time to time. ( Used a real lousy camera, sorry about that )

Anyone would like to help ID this fish

Hi Nelly, thanks but no it doesnt look like the one in your picture. Guess i need to invest in a good camera soon. Anyone with cyclops eyes can ID this snakehead?

Its NO platinum, cause of its blotches, its punctata or panaw.

But you need to learn how to photograph fish ;-)

haha care to teach me how? This fish has a deep blue( almost black colour) on its dorsal, pelvic and anal fins. Does channa punctata or channa panaw have this characteristic?

HI,

you are too close to the fish, the autofocus cant get it, and the background plangts are clearer than the fish.
If you use flash, try to photograph a bit diagonal, so the light flashes noz back to the camera.

That's what the picture i put is a juvi panaw,

Alright, will bear the in mind Thanks Brucki and Nelly, you both been great help. Conclude that this channa is probably a C.Panaw with blue fins .
