anyone knows how to ID a juvenile goliath african tiger fish?

Longer snout, no stripes, different tail.

You have a photo of the fish in question? 99.9% chance it aint a goliath

If it looks like this picture from Frank Magallanes it is not a Goliath, but instead it is a juvie H. vittatus. the one in the pic is described as about 5" long.

Beasty looking. Wish i could own 1. From the pic, it also looks like there's no red colouring on the tip of the tail? How bout brevis? Anways to spot a brevis? Shorter snout?

I did not find a pic of a juvie brevis but it has 3 scale rows below the lateral line instead of 2. That is according to fishbase.org.
