This was caught in south west georgia. Not sure what it is though. I'm thinking some sort of sunfish. It didnt look as pretty out of the water as it did in the water.

3" long picked up out of a spawning bed. (it was released again)
Tips of its fins are a whitish / light blue
The head of it there are blue lines running horizonally and then there are purplish lines running verticle. The black spot is outlined with the same color blue on its head. Eye is bright red. (isnt blood from a hook)
