Where are you in Ontario that has a good Longnose population? They have been declining as of late in the region is why I ask..If they are spawning in your area fry will be coming up very soon..I'm predicting in the Detroit river a June 10th date for fry availability. Being on the same basic latitude and climate I would expect the same time frame plus or minus a week or two for you also. I would suggest collecting fry and leaving the adults. Adult and sub adult longnosed are much more difficult to work with than those raised in a tank.

I can help you with information on finding and raising the fry..

I only want fry, They are spawning in a shallow part of the river where there isnt much current. I am near Belleville Ontario, the Moira River has tons of them in it. I will let you know when we get some.

Yep that is still a good hot spot for them in Eastern Lake Erie I was out there about three years ago and we had great luck in finding longnosed young of the year in and around near the mouth of the Moira..We where looking for Spotteds but there was no luck on that end..

Good luck on finding the fry..
