I was offered this guy for $10.... I was wondering what kind he is, how big he will get, and if he can live in the 55 for the rest of his life.. and what he will eat..
Thanks,
-Alex..

Cool. I like yo-yo loaches.

He looks a bit different from the yo yo loach I had. You could very easily read out "yo yo" on my loaches pattern, and you can barely see a Y on yours. Mine also appeared much whiter, but that just may be tank lighting.

Either way, I would buy him a few buddies to school with if you do get him. I made the mistake of trying to keep a single yo yo in a community tank (tetras and one clown pleco). The yo you did fine as a juvenile, but once he grew to 4" he turned into a nipper. My 3 neon tetras disappeared, and my clown pleco's tail was getting picked at badly. I ended up parting ways with the loach regardless of how much I loved his personality.

Here is a shot of the yo yo I had-

6 inches is the max. They're very quick growers and yoyos of various sizes get along very well. A 55g can house 8-10 of them well enough.

I've decided to pass on this offer.... I've been offered (3) Mylossoma Duriventre for 30.

As yoyos get older, they can lose their distinct YOYOYOYOYO pattern. The OPs picture is obviously a yoyo though.
