Sailfin is a descriptive name but I'm not really up on "pleco" classification.

What would it take to breed these things? Would it be worth it assuming I could acquire a male and female?

Looks like a common to me. Breeding would be a waste of time more than likely. They are mainly bred in farm ponds by the thousands for dirty cheap.

it's a common pleco, why breeding when they are dirt cheap and can be found in a lot of ponds in Florida now!

As far as I know noone has breed them in an aquarium. They need a pretty big tank from what ive heard and prefer holse in the mud banks of ponds. I could be wrong about this but id say go for it if you can.
