Interesting colouration, almost reddish.

It is definitely female and looks to be a lugubris group pike.

Where was it caught? What river?

Definitely a Lugubris pike, and like Mark said, female.

Unfortunately, no it is not in my tanks, a local had caught it and was going to eat it that night, it was his only fish. Plus, it had been on the sand for almost an hour i wouldnt have been able to save it. Even if i had i simply have no room.
This one is currently resting in a bucket because the only tank large enough is owned by a Crenicichla alta that wont let it have a moments rest.

PS. It got pretty beat up but it looks better now.
