Hey guys, had this Pleco nearly a decade ago,just curious which one it was. I'd like another for my new tank,had to rehome him when we moved.
ID this Pleco?

It's a Royal Pleco of some sorts, my guess would be a Xingu Platinum but I'm not the most well versed on royals. Someone else should likely be able to narrow it down better.
Yeah, i thought it was bit i know there are greener ones and more black and white ones etc. I like the watermelon looking ones ?
Watermelon Royals are definitely my favorite. Plan on getting one of them in my next large tank as royals do get rather large.
I think the retail name for the pictured Pleco might be "Dull Eyed Pleco". I've kept a few of them.
dirty tank, but I saw these two together and thought about this thread. “Bright eye” l190 on the left, and “dull eye” l191 on the right.
there are other types of royals with the orange eyes, but the “dull eye” is definitely not one of them.
consider yourself lucky it’s not a “dull eye” if you’re expecting a 12-14” fish…

Sadly I don't have that guy anymore, Sold that whole tank with fish when we moved a couple years ago. I was just trying to figure out which one he was so I could have another, but I know there's so many variations on royals, and some of them are different L numbers and some of them are later determined to just be color variations on the same fish etc, it gets confusing. Ideally I'd like one that stays in the 12 to 14" range but still has the light green dark green coloration.
