Saw this sold as red devil... looks very yellow. Is it xanthic?


Tail looks a bit deformed.

In what way will the color change? Will it lose all of the yellow?
 
Tough to tell what it will look like when it's full grown. It could change alot or change very little. What size is it? The tail is deformed, if it was me I think I'd pass on it.
 
It looked about 9-10".
 
Is an A. citrinellus this yellow uncommon at all? I've been browsing for pics but can't find any with this shade of yellow.
 
Yellow is usually a sign of not a healthy diet. It will probably turn orange.

Well, they did have a couple same size red devil/midas at the same store that were bright orange. My assumption is they are fed the same diet.


It's most likely a Midevil, a hybrid.

What signs make you think that bro? I am interested in this fish for hybrid breeding :)
