id this texas cichlid pls

Can anyone Id and sex this cichlid? Its about 2"

looks flowerhorn to me. maybe a red txas of some sort. doesnt look pure texas imo and too small to sex

I was worried about that, what are the traits that tell you it may be a hybrid? The red eye? How about the yellow color in the fins?

I was also thinking the face shape might be off.

fin shape looks off. too pointed for a juvie tex and base color almost looks red or orange colored and the head shape also. may have some blood parrot in there too

Nope. A member on here, "Bud" had a fertile RT male. I'm on the hunt for one myself, its rare but not impossible to find one. Raise yours to about 7" then try introducing a female blood parrot in with him. Easiest way to test his fertility, or you could add a female carpintis.

Looks like someone's red Texas project, nice looking fish, you have to grow him/her out and try to breed it to see if he/she is fertile.

deffo RT, also maybe still too small to sex but im guna GUESS thats its a boy. but thats a shot in the dark.
