ID this wild lizard/salamander/camelion/whatever it is....

A friend who is a private contracter, found this 4 inch guy buried 5 foot deep while installing a sewer line. What is it? Is it poisonous? I will keep it if I can care for it properly...

I would get better pics, but I'm afraid to to touch it- maybe poisonous???

6 or 5 lined skink I think and the tail may just be missing some to look like that.

The stripes are a dark brown and the tail isn't blue or gray?

Six Lined Race-Runner?

The stripes are dark. The stripes are dark brown. The belly has the same striping as the top does.


I don't mean to be condescending, but I want to be for sure before I touch this guy...

there is like 2 poisonous lizards in the world, and that aint it...... thats a skink of some sort. completely harmless.

just release it. if its a newt, dont touch it. there skin is sensitive. looks like a skink.
