Can someone please help me accuratly ID this wood? It is native to southern Oregon (Grants Pass to be specific) It is a bush, not a tree. My family tells me this is manzanita 100% but I am not sure TBH because it doesn't look like any of the manz I own. Little help?

Yeah, that's manzanita for sure. It is also marketed as ghost wood in the pet trade. There is a type of it growing all over the place where I am.

Do I need to strip the bark off? Thanks guys. Jeff, I filled my tahoe with one load and can get as much more as I want.

Yep i would let it dry for a year Justin ....The shrubs that grow near the base the pieces that have fallen and are dried grey are best after soaking for a few weeks and sometimes longer they will sink just takes time...If that big piece under the water is a dry grey one ya got a good one....

LOL!!! or go back to where you found those pieces and look for the dry pieces that have fallen off right next to the Manz:ROFL::ROFL:;)Otherwise you will have pieces of that skin everywhere....
