ID ...Undescribed? Hybrid?

I ran into these on a Brazilian Aquarium Forum - They don't know what to ID.

Two different specimens, but very similar...could be coincidence, or could be something else...your thoughts?

One is described as having been captured in a Tributary feeding off of Tocantins.

I have seen the first pic before on here as well. They look like they could have castexi in them but the tail is really short for there size. Really not sure.
 
Maybe signata for the first one? The pattern is alittle off from what I have seen of other signata, but color is about right, and I believe they come from the same area. The only thing that really thows me off is the tail and body shape.

And I agree with Kelvado on the second one, looks like it's something a long the lines of a leo or hen variant/hybrid.
 
I'm sure they eat them in the Amazon... there are even recipes floating around online!
