I picked this guy up from a reputable LFS and am under the impression he/she is an Argentea. I have some doubts because of how streamlined his body is but he has the finnage I would expect. My lighting is daylight and 10000k so its hard to get a real read on his actual coloration. Any ideas? Total length i about 5.5"

wtf he is stunnning plz more details on your lights are they t5 and full tank shot plz i wanna know how u got his colors to pop like that

See, the thing is, his color doesn't pop like that at all in the tank. Those pics were taken with a flash. Without the flash he looks grey and hardly shiny at all. I have a standard flourescent daylight bulb and a 10 watt white LED that hardly does anything. I thought they were supposed to be more white but this guy is straight, flat gray in the tank. Is it an age thing?

lol they normally are a white or silverish color

I don't know, I guess most of the pics I see for younger fish look a lot whiter. Plus a lot taller in the body. Any other thoughts would be helpful.

yeah usually alot taller mine is shorter lenght then your but alot taller

Looks argentea to me too. Beautiful fish. Just give it some time to settle in. Your substrate is black. All my fish looked alot darker over black gravel. They all colored up over sand
