ID, what do you think?

My wife has this little guy in the 29 gallon for a few weeks already, picked it out of a feeder tank

I'm gonna chime in with a "no idea". definately looks like some type of cichlid.

That is as far as I've thought, last time here some folks suggested maybe a tilapia of some sort

I was kind of thinking tilapia, too. but my opinion isn't worth much when it comes to IDing fish. unless its an O, JD, Con, GT....

Looks like a tilapia, maybe a nile tilapia.

I would say some sort of tilapia. That was my first instinct. But what kind, I'm stumped.......

I am leaning towards saying it is an Oreochromis, but I am unsure with the species, but since nile tilapia seems to be the most suggested, I'll assume it is that?

Will do! Just wanted to get some early ideas, since it appears it's going to be on the big/aggressive side, and its current grow out tankmates are not at its level at all.
