Back in the fishkeeping hobby after a 4-year hiatus. I've always been a massive fan of pikes and so when I saw this fish in a LFS I just couldn't pass it up despite the fact it wasn't in great shape. Supposedly an Atabapo I, but this pike at 7.5" is a complete puzzle to me, with a red head, green-grey body, red fins and quite often a very distinct black stripe down its flanks (although the pics don't really show it). Humeral blotch sometimes present, sometimes not, and unocellated. Oh and, male or female? There is a very distinct white stripe in the dorsal, but at the same time there is very distinct male-like striation on the flanks. What do you guys think?

While I'm no help IDing, that's a really cool looking pike. I bet it'll be awesome when the fins heal.

Looks like an Atabapo to me, first photo i can see a distinct white line along the top part of the dorsal. Looks fat, what are you feeding it?
