This was sold to me as a gator wich is bull****:irked: Then i called the guy and he thought it was a Florida/spotted gar. I believed that:)
Looks kinda like a Hujeta but whith colous:nilly:
maybe related to a Hujeta:irked:?

Can it be with a spotted pike characin?
How big do they grow (spotted and striped)?

They are pretty much the same fish with no different care... Both get around 35 cm (But likely smaller in captivity) They like to shoal in loose groups...They are in all reality more difficult to keep than Lepisosteids and can be touchy as to feeding and as to tolerances. These fish are very sensitive to water conditions and are also magnets to fungus infections and parasites....

Cool fish in their own right but are not really a community tank fish and they are a bit of a challage even to those that are well seasoned aquarists... Good luck with the fish and sorry it is not a Gar..

they are characins.
relatives or hujetas.
care is basically the same as hujetas.
 
common name is pike charachin you got the scientific name all ready i'm to lazy to re type it

the striped gets bigger then the spotted but not by to much
