Im new too Crenicichla, i have always thought they where boring.
I have a 100g growout, im gettin this in my growout and was wondering if i could have this little guy in there all are 2", the pike too.

5x Parachromis managuense/Jaguar
1 or 2 parachromis Dovii/Dovii
1 or 2 Umbrifrerum/umbee
And also i would like this little guy too join, will he be ok? What sp. is it and how big does it get?

Thats a SP. bellycrawler if your looking for an active pike thats not the right one for you plus they only get to around 8'' max

With those tank mates Definitely get a larger pike there are much more active and colorful pikes then bellycrawlers

Look into Johanna, cobras, cincta, lenticulata, marmorata there are many more but those are a few some what common species johanna is a very common and in expensive pike and if you get the right varient they can be very colorful

This is the only sp. available, its the only pike ive ever seen.
Could this one be with those on my list for a few months?

no. that pike would get demolished in that stock list. all there is to it. get a pike larger than everything else, that gets larger than everything else and it might not get murdered. but i see the dovii killing whatever else you put in there.

I see, in the future, a tank with either one large umbee or one large dovii only. The rest will be gone with the wind. Good luck with it though.

But I think in a huge tank (HUGE), a big ven might work for a while.

Im not going for the dovii or umbee, just the jags, they where for a 180g 1fish tank...

so then the 100 is a grow out till they can be put in a 180 ? if you will still have the 100 you could try the belley crawler if you give it a place to hide it could survive in a tank of jags unless they forum a pair then the pikes in trouble
