Hi I just got a new pleco for my 75 gallon tank and I was wondering what kind he was. He has only been in the tank for 3 hours or so, I was thinking L-48...
Any Ideas?

Need more res in the pic..

but my guess would be that is a Flyer Cat L235 - Pseudolithoxus anthrax

No, I don't think it's a Flyer Cat. The L235 head profile is much flatter, this one is more domed.

Other possibilities, a galaxy L007/240. If you can get a good mouth shot, that would help determine if its a Leprocanthicus or not.
And is the color of the spots yellowish, or white? Galaxies can have white or yellow spots. If the spots are white, another possiblity is the snowball/inspector pleco L102.

I think L142 snowball is one of the best guesses.

How large is this fish?

Its not a L48 or L253 in fact its not even the Scobinancistrus species...
you can tell from the eye.. its not golden.... that pleco's eyes are black.. I would venture to say its either a Snowball pleco OR that could actually be a Gold nugget.. without the yellow tip colors...

All Scobinancistrus have very distinctive eyes.. very yellow gold with a bit of white.. make you think it has cloudy eyes because that species is very unique..

I have two species with me.. L48 and L14.. anyways.. need a better picture of the mouth.. i can tell by the mouth shape..
