I bought this little guy from a whole in the wall fish store for 2.99. I personally think it's just a firemouth, any other opinions?

I don't see any orange/red underneath...so I don't think it is a thorichthys meeki (firemouth) but possibly another thorichthys specie

I think it's a bit too stressed to show red, at the lfs I saw him flare and its flap was pretty red.

I did some googling, and I think it may be Thorichthys ellioti, it has the prominant red trimmings on its fins. Any one else think this may be the case?

EDIT: Got this picture of it, might be a little easier to ID from.

I'm nearly positive it's a Meeki.. My juvenile Firemouths look just like this when they're washed out.

definately firemouth. they dont show very strong gill colouration when young

Could be about any of the Thorichthys but is for sure most likely a firemouth. Good luck and enjoy whatever it is.
