Picked this guy up as a common pleco but he definitely didn't look like the others in the tank.

No that is not correct... All Pterygoplichthys have 10+fin rays, a Sailfin just happens to be one of many kinds of Pterygoplichthys.

As far as the ID...I'm not sure if it is a sailfin(100%). It looks like a hybrid between and sailfin and a common.
