Looks tatauaia.
 
IMO this is Hydrolycus Armatus.
Not H.Scomberoides as it has no black spot at the base of the pectoral fin and not H.Wallacei which I believe would be more black in colour.
However I also thought H. tatauaia should have a black spot at the base of the pectoral as well as a black line running vertical with the operculum.
Can’t tell the colour in the tail in that lighting either.
Happy to be corrected though as this is not a species I have kept.

Think let it settle in but the other guys could be right.

That and the fact that only 1 in 1000 aquarists have the true accommodation to house this fish when it gets anything near it’s potential. Not just because of its size, but it’s limited tank mates. Finding something big enough it won’t eat but small enough not to eat it, throughout its life.

i had one around 10 years ago 22-24 inches didnt bother anything even half its size
