Agreed. Looks like a Lepomis sp.
Therefore, not a species of cichlid
That’s a pic from the LFS, they were selling it as ‘Sun cichlid’. Would like to know about the fish though so info like aggression, max size etc would be appreciated

Ask in North American fish section of the forum. You will get faster reponses.

First pic are Sunfish of some sort...behave like cichlids, generally pit spawners and can withstand colder temps and need them.

Second pic you posted is of young Jaguar cichlids.
