this is my idea for a pressurized canister filter, the pump would pump the water under pressure into the tube with a venturi if i could possibly make one. The water then passes through the bio balls or other media with high flow rate, i thought that putting the water at a slightly higher flow rate that it is coming from the aqaurium would increase the effectivness of the filter, any ideas on this? the water then passes out of the filter chamber and return through a bigger diameter pipe back into the aquarium with a venturi to increase the aeration on the return. This filter would be mounted on the back of the aquarium. Any ideas about this kind of filter, how i should improve it?

thanks, im just curious really to see the results of how effective the bacteria would be, id be happy to pay for a comercially made filter but wanted to try this :)

I shall have to give it a go, but im thinking a first stage mechanical pre filter, :/ its gota be quick to remove and clean or make the bio filter 2 stage with mechanical media first then biological after, any ideas. This filter would be for a rainbow snakehead would i need any mechanical fitration really and wouldnt particularly enjoy spending a long amount of time with my hands in the tank :)
