cichlid city
heres the scoop......i have a 75 with a buttikoferi around 8 inches and two plecos.I really want to add one more fish.I seen a 15 inch channel catfish and i really want it.should i get it.Its 29.98,I think its a good buy actually.I hear they get real big,but it depends on the size of the tank.would my buttikoferi kill the catfish or will it be able to defend itself. If this would make a overstocking i wont get it.

gets way bigger than you can handle no matter the tank size.. don't buy it..

You've been around here long enough to know how untrue that is.
Of course it cant get full size in a small tank..... they DIE before they can reach adult size.

Do yourself and the fish a favor and skip getting it. It's no where near slowing down on growth.

Why even consider a fish that is too big for that tank to begin with?
I know the 75 is 18" wide, but a channel cat is a VERY active fish in tropical temps.

yea i was gonna say i dont even have a cat fish just because i heard there so active in tropical

can someone please tell me what other fish can go wit the butti in a 75

can u explain why......:irked: ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,just saying none isent very influenceing

An 8" Butti would own it's 75, it's too difficult to introduce a new fish to the system. Also, keep in mind 2 is never a good number of fish, it means one will get picked on relentlesly...

Large cichlids you've been around here for a while and almost every post you make has something to do with adding fish to and already overcrowded tank. I would say nothing can go with the butti. I would just enjoy that fish. The only other option for you would get another tank and get the other type of fish you want
