Im want to set up a 150 gallon tank.I already have it and i bought it at a garage sale for 75 bucks today:headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 .I want to make it a central american set up.what would u guys suggest stocking it with and what kind of filters.the guy selling it said he kept two peacock bass in it and got tired of putting money into it.I thougth it was a deal.what do u think. Its just the tank.It dident come with lights or anything accept the stand which is homemade, and is held together from welds.im starting to think im going tank crazy because im already getting a 265 as a birthday present....advice apreciated.:D

I would try to setup a nice solo breeding pair in that size a tank something like a pair of Trimas, Midas, or Jags. Another nice fish would be a pair of Red Terrors, if you like glass bangers there is nothing like a large pair of Festae guarding there young.

I don't know, but it seems small for PC Bass, so don't get that, unless it is for your 265 :D

Check out this page with many wonderful American Cichlids, pick the ones that you like and do lots of research on them.

yea........i think ill add my rd to the tank, and proablay 1 or two more fish.

I would go with a nice Central American community tank. I'm thinking a H. Pearsi, P. Bulleri or Gibbiceps, some kind of Thorichthy's and maybe a P. Lyonsi or a Chuco Godmani. Something along those lines anyway but a nice Central american tank will give you alot of enjoyment. Get an XP4 by filstar. Great cheap filtration. Solo tanks are nice but I like a busy tank myself

same here..................that set up does sound nice....but would a red devil and a buttikoferi and a texas do good in a 150 gallon

That would be one CRAZY tank that I would highly reccomend against. Might work at small size but the bigger the fish get the more aggression they get.
