I WANT TO BUY A SILVER AROWANA AND I WANT TO KNOW THAT WHAT SIZE SHOULD I BUY SO THAT IT IS HARDY TO ACCEPT WATER CONDITIONS COMPARED TO A BABY MY TANK SIZE IS 6 FT 1FT 2FT

Start with a silver of around 6" and you should be fine. All silvers need pristine water conditions though. Realize that they grow very quickly and though your tank has good length it is too narrow for a large arowana.

1 year before it out grows the tank....

10x3x2 or more would be ideal for a aro for life the height really doesnt matter as much as the length and width.

when it is just a "baby", the size looks more than necessary
but they grow fast, and soon the size is not sufficient.
keep in mind they need "room" to swim, just some decor, in the ground, nothing that will be an obstacle is best.

you mean you don't even have one yet? judging by your name, i would've thought....

Go figure...... :screwy:

Ideal size that you should get would definately be approx 6", unless you are that sure of yourself that you can keep pristine water conditions.

mine is still a fry in comparison, but I change 50% water in 4, now 5 tanks a week. I am planning on doing an extremely large custom tank (within my means) with hopes of an indoor pond for my larger cichlids.
