What does everyone keep their SA/CA cichlids temperature at for the following:

Day to day living?

Breeding?

Cool water changes to help with breeding, how much do you usually drop the temp?

Kinda depends on the fish. Most of the tanks are at 80-81, Rams are at 86 the Acaronia Nassa tank is at 84. Water changes are done with basicly the same temp as the tank no more than 5 degrees cooler at most.

It depends on the fish, what species are you specifically referring to? The questions is too broad to cover all CA/SA's IMO.

My SA's (eartheaters, severums, uaru etc..) I all kept at 82. For my CA's I keep the temps lower at 77. When the temp in my dovii tank hits anything oer 78 my male goes absolutly aggro so I try to kee that tank at a stead 76. I don't cool down the tank to breed CA's, but did with my SA's. I usually dropped it 2-4 degree's.

Uaru, discus and rams I keep warm, usually in the mid 80s. Angels, severums, parrot cichlids, geos, and various acara-type cichlids here at my house are kept usually between 80 - 82. If I'm trying to spawn something, I do a 90% water change. That usually triggers it.
