Ideal time to strip female Geophagus???

Hey guys, i have a pair of Geophagus Brachybranchus that spawned 3 days ago..... If i decide to strip the female and raise the fry myself in another tank.... how long should i wait before stripping her?

A few months ago a different female spawned and on the 8th day hunger got the best of her and she opened her mouth to feed, all the fry fell out and i got a good look at them... they were still little wrigglers with yolk sacks about the same size as them. Sadly the fry were gone a few days later.

I have no idea how she is going to keep her mouth closed soon anyway... there would of been 300+ eggs

yeah can do it know if u want to do you know how to though that is the question you can strip them when there eggs..people do it with africans all the time

Do ME a favor and take pics.. i friggan LOVE geo's.. i wanna see what they look like... how big are they, and is there first spawning? How big were they in inches for their first spawning.. thanks! GOOD LUCK
