My base of my aquarium is crack from the sump going out im wondering best way to fix it? I just got a quote for 1/2 inch glass 8ft by 2 ft for 450 dollars. This is ridiculous. Any thoughts are is this about how much glass runs?

for the bottom does it need to be 1/2 glass or can I get away with something smaller? Is their special glass I need to use?

I know for example glasscages has prices on their site and for what you need would be $144. You could also look on craigs list in your area too.
