I currently have a 55 gallon tank of semi-aggressive fish. We bought a 200 gallon because we were wanting to make the large tank for our bigger and more aggressive fish. We love our needlefish and dinosaur bichir and once the tank is established we will put them both in there.

The person we bought the tank from gave us two albino oscars that are in the tank now but we will probably get rid of them because they aren't very compatible with our other fish. Currently with the oscars is our bichir, a pangasius catfish (iridescent shark), bala shark, and a ropefish. We'll probably get rid of our pangasius too because we want more room, and it will get much larger. Both our bichir and needlefish are only about 5-6" our bala and pangasius are about 3-4" and the ropefish is prob 9" or so. We're afraid to put our needlefish in the tank until the oscars are gone.

We want more carnivores, and were interested in the arowana, wolf fish, and vampire tetra we saw at the store, but after doing research looks like they wouldn't be compatible with much of anything.

Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe of a wide bar, freshwater lionfish or african butterfly fish? We really like the fish that eat live feeders, and aggressive fish, but not ones that will eat eachother.

Also any advice on properly establishing our 200 gallon? the levels all seem perfect now, but it's still so new we don't want to stock it yet.

Yeah, wouldn't reccomend mixing the oscars and needlefish. Pangasius might grow too large as well (though I think you covered that)

Yeah, carnivorous tetras tend not to be very compatible due to their propensity of fin-nippage. Your tank is a little small for an arowana as well.

Wide bar datinoids would be fine with your current stock to my knowledge, as would butterfly fish. I would also recommend (if you want feeders) to breed/raise your own, for that is far more economical and healthy for your fish.
