I have an empty 55 that id like to make into a nice semi peaceful community tank. Something I haven't had in about 5 years. Its a standard 55 so anything that can fit in there for life.

I love amazonian type tanks but I would only be able to do about 25% wc a week so no discus, angels, cardinal tetras for me. I wouldn't mind a south american tank either.

I basically need ideas, I haven't had any fish that don't eat their tank mates in a long time so I'm not sure what to look into.

I do remember having red eye tetras and loving them so id like those in their somewheres. Id like a centerpiece fish as well, but nothing that will eat the smaller inhabitants.

Help me out please. :/

I don't think you'd have any issues with regular angelfish with that water change setup but if there is you could probably do a hardy geophagus species as the centrepiece

I would go with a with a 6 Silver Angels, some Red Eye Tetra's and a few Latacara sp. That's just my 2 cents.

Geos? Really? I thought they would outgrow a 55. I love "red headed" geos (I think that's what they are known as?)

I wouldn't mind a green terror either, but I want a nice looking community going with very minimal aggression.

I would do not Geos for a 55gallon a red head need a 75 gallon for a group of 5...

i menat a single geo instead of a big group

for a 55, i would get some regular angels with the red eye tetras and for the centerpiece a pair of dwarf cichlids
