I have a 65g brackish tank that is now housing a fully grown knight goby. Now, I never wanted or planned for him and if I get fish that need higher salinity I'll remove the gravel floor to replace with crushed coral/sand mix.
The whole setup was given to me and he is pretty cool but reclusive. He'll come out when I feed him but darts into his hide if even my husband approaches. Strangers, ugh, gone for hours. He knows me, I feed him, that's it.
I can't get rid of him locally (tried), I hear they fair only poorly if converted to marine.
I could (and am soon going to) move him to a 45g long tank if I can't find him a new home. Unless someone can give me an idea that would work for tankmates. I can special order a few, like orange chomides, but he will kill fish almost his own size so I don't know what he could mix with or the best way to introduce them. Thoughts

He WILL kill fish near his own size! Has done so since he was 1.5in.. I can only assume he's gotten more aggressive but, tankmates = chomping practice in the past..
Would LOTS of decorations and hides maybe prevent this?

I can't ship ATM, but if anyone is in or near the Grand Forks area of ND I'd be willing to sell/trade this fish. Approx. 3 yrs old (in captivity 2yr), on frozen foods.
