Hi All-I recently bought a wrought iron 55 gallon stand that I love. It allows you to put the same size tank in the bottom tier as the top bdcause the length and width are identical. I plan on putting a 33 gallon in the bottom section (essentially a shorter 55 gallon). Problem is the bottom elevates a paltry 3 inches off the ground. Wondering about water changes as I don't see how regular siphoning off the bottom can occur. Obviously, I could elevate it with some wood, but was wondering if anyone has had an issue along these lines and what you did? Thanks for your time.

You could get a cheap fountain pump to connect to a hose line that goes to a sink. It's a lot less annoying than starting a siphon up and less terrifying for the fish.
Remembered I had these 5 inch tall furniture risers that weren't being used. Brought the bottom of the tank from 3 inches to the ground up to 8 inches from the ground.
Probably b ok.. better to support the full ends tho rather than 4 corners. 4x4” would be pretty close there with more/better support. Tempered bottom glass tanks only need the ends supported. I use 4x4”s, 4” solid cinders, 2x4 or regular cinders.
I started using fountain pumps for draining low tanks. Now I use for all tanks without fry.
