Well I sold my 4 fish and I currently have 2 firemouths and 2 convicts that are 2" and under. I was curious as to what I could put with them so they could grow up with these 4 small fish? Would a leporinus and 6 mollies work long term or not? Please help.

Just keep as is. When the fish grow to adult size you will be very satisfied. There is nothing like a 7 year old male FM 8" long with a huge head. Yes I have seen it before a LFS and they were being sold for 29.99. It's ashame I didn't pick one up but if you are looking for new fish I would say just stick with a cichlid theme and add an Acara.

Well for now, I wanted them all to come out more so I was thinking having the mollies to hopefully bring them out so they can I guess learn that there is no true danger presented and yeah. Or should I add 2 more cons and 2 more firemouths? Or just keep it the way it is?

keep it the way it is i do belive if u ad more cons therte will be more fights comming from my experience with cons, at the moment i hold the most bada** convict ive seen in a long while, will not put up with anythign not even me.

8 inch FM!! I would pay to see that! I have never seen one larger than 5 or 6 inches.

I've had a cons before, and they were a breeding pair. My old nic pushed them around even with their eggs. So, I doubt that the firemouths would get their butts kicked, seeing as so far ruler of the tank is a firemouth.

Once mature the FMs and cons will be about all you can have in that 55g. You could try some quick schooling fish such as giant danios or tiger barbs. If you are lucky you'll end up with breeding pairs of each, you'll then have a very entertaining tank to watch.

im straten to worry bout his strength the other day eh ripped the net out of my hand liek in fidning nemo the whole "swim down!" thign ahha was weird and when imt akin em out he gets me soaked cuz he fights so hard hes crazy man ive even had offers from ppl for them to buy em hes really crazy.. haha weird man

My convicts never put up a fight, and they were always afraid of the net which I find was good, and yeah. I want to use Swordtails or platies as well as mollies again. Plus, their fry can grow up with my current cons seeing as they are half an inch. I'm trying to go for all central american tank and I'm curious as to what tetras and charachins fit the bill and can live in a 55 gallon for life?
