I have a lot of geos, which are all midwater fish that aren't super active. I'm looking for a fish (preferably something I could go 3+ of) that would swim back and forth a lot. My friend wants me to keep fish in my South American biotope (in addition to my geos I have two plecos and a headstander) but I'm not set on that idea.

Any ideas for cruising fish would be good but I've already decided on no angelfish or silver dollars unless someone can convince me the silver dollars aren't going to get super aggressive and attack all of my other fish.

As above, in general any wide-bodied tetra should be fine. Some can be a bit nippy, but if you keep a good sized group of conspecifics (e.g. a shoal or 6+), they'll stick to picking on each other.

How big is the tank?
I have a shoal of pink tailed chalceus, they cruise near the surface and are a very nice fish.Peaceful in groups of 6+ but would probably eat smaller tetras.

I had Pink Tail Chalceus back in the day really neat fish.
Very attractive fish in the flesh, photos never seem to catch their highly metallic scales.Cant recommend them enough for a top water fish in medium to large communities.

I love pink tails as well I have only ever had a single specimen after a bad experience with a pair but I am hoping to get a large group in the future
