im trying to plan ahead for the 300 gal tank i will be getting next year. it will be for a snapping turtle and will only be about half full of water. what should my filtration system consist of? i would like to use one of the diy sumps ive seen because keeping the heater in the sump and out of the tank is a good idea. does anything need to be done to the tank for me to use one? whould a 55 gal aquarium be of adiquate size for the sump? what specs does the pump need to have? would this pump work? http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategories/2309/Danner-Supreme-Mag-Drive-Pumps sory for so many questions but i would like to start getting supplies now to minimize the wallet shock latter.
