Ideas on a mixed tank?

Been having a look aroud all the posts and what other people have. I'm looking to start up a new tank for my workplace. It's a nice and warm room with little passing traffic.

I would like to creat two area in the tank, for example have some fish in the water area and then have something else on the land area.

Anyone done anything like this? Or have any ideas of what may make an interesting tank?

I have a 40 gallon paludarium with Azureus dart frogs, a South American Bumblebee catfish (soon to be removed), and some Australian Blue-Eyed Gertrudes... It is quite simple to make and looks pretty good in my opinion.
