OK so i have a 125g w/ 3 Ac110s on the back and 2-250w Vis-therm stealth heaters......my Q is i've tried turning down the flow on the filters but my lil clown loaches are getting stuck to the intake!!! i discovered 2 of them stuck to one intake and i freed them......seems like they will be ok i was keepin a very watchfull eye on them during the first few hours of release........they all aclimated well (i use the drip method) but i decided to cut up an old white T-shirt and wrap it around the intake w/ a rubber band to hold it on there......the LFS doesn't open up till 10am so i had to make due.....any ideas on what i could use for a PRE-filter......mabe some new sponge filters??? have you guys come across this prob when your fish are young and the suciton is kinda strong.........what did you do other than turnin down the flow.....i was thinkin of makin a cage to put around the intake kinda like lil blueberry basket, the ones they come in the grocery store. this was untill i can make it to the LFS thanks any input would be appreciated.

I would just stuff some filter floss in the intake tube down where the grated part is. That should save your fish and slow down the flow a bit.

ended up findin a foam block that was small enough and still porous enough not the inhibit my flow-rate to much. oh and the loaches aren't stuck to them anymore haha kinda ugly but will have to do for a while till they get some size on em'

WHen having trouble with filtration intake being too strong, to a point of it sucking fish, simply wrap a sponge-filter-sponge around the intake with a rubberbrand......I do not have any problems with fish being sucked in, only exception if the time when I have fry...

blocks of sponge filter on the intake is the way to go.. the bigger the block the more the "suck" will be spread around.. it also makes a great prefilter
