put up a screen on the input of the pipe.

My Albino Poly crawls into the HOB box, but gets himself out. Put a nylon sock on the intake tube.

What type overflow do you have?

I had to resuce my 16" tt eel from a peguin 350 filter the other night. Luckly I had a large rock on the filter so it was unable to get out. I have since removed the filter(was just on there to cycle) I do still have two AC110 though.

pro clear 400... dual over flow box...


i have thought about turning off the w/d until the fish grow bigger.. .there is still 2000gph running w/o it..... i may try the sock idea.....

I"m not familiar with the proclear 400 overflow. I am assuming that you have a box in the tank with a "U" tube. I used a bioball in the "U" tube to keep out my yo yo loaches when they were small. YThis didn't keep them out of the internal box but did at least keep them in water.

yea there are 2 u tubes...

i found that fool in there today (#6) even after i put grates on the inside of the overflow box... only one slat was left un guarded and he must have found that one...

he must like it down there or somethin?

Eels of all types IME love places to hide and are attracted to current. Provideing a few more intresting places to hide might help to keep them out of your filtration system.

I keep finding mine in the overflow boxes as well.No matter what i try it still gets in there.
