I just got a couple of 1 1/2" electric blue dempseys, and i'm keeping them in a 46 gallon with a tiger barb, 3 serpae tetra, and a striped raphael cat. I know they're pretty fragile, and this IS my first experience with them. I've been looking for helpful hints from anyone who's had experience with them.
I've been on search engines for the past few days, and everywhere i go, i see "i don't like hybrids," or "i can't help you, these aren't naturally occurring fish." One guy even posted that they carry a recessive gene that causes them to die as soon as they reach sexual maturity
I would just love to hear some pointers from someone who had any idea what they're talking about.
