I am getting a custom made aquarium ether 800g or1000g. that is not yet finalized but most likely it is going to be 800g. I wasjust wondering of some fish that would be able to go in the tank. The stockright now that is going it will be:
1 arrowana
1 Clown Knife
1Tiretrack eel
1fontosa
I was wondering if there were any other fish thatcould go in the tank. I was thinking maby a freshwater barracuda, or a smallspecies of gar (are there any that could live in there for life?), or maybe ashovel nose cat fish (Will it eat my eel?) any other suggestions areappreciated. As well how many more fish could be put in to the tank possibly? Thanks!
Pics will come in a couple of months once I get it andit is all set up!

you could get a few freshwater rays, maybe motoro's. you could also put in a Mbu puffer. i don't know why you would want a freshwater tank that big, you could get a 400 gallon bamboo shark tank for that much money, but whatever. you should be careful if you decide to put smaller fish in though because the arrowana will go after them.

what dims are you looking at for the tank? long-term I would not house a large cat with an eel.. despite the eels having spines down it's back at the end of the day it is still just a large noodle to a big cat like a TSN something that stays smaller like a Lima might work if the eel was already larger then the lima. gar and arrowana( you never stated what species?) are a hit or miss as far as getting along in a tank... sometimes it works.. sometimes not.. my gar don't like arrowanas and thats that... while there are others who don't have issues mixing them, persoanlly they don't do well in semi-aggro set-ups which seems to be where you're sitting. alot of CA/SA cichlids might work in your set-up if done properly.

It sounds like you have alot of research to go yet, and you will find the sub-forum stickies to be your best bet for more specific info and their sub-forums once you get an idea of what you'de like to do. Your stocking is spot on for the most part , always better to under-stock vs over stock. Because I promise you 100% you'll add more either sooner or later. I know I am always upgradeing tanks to accomidate new fish I've found that I "have to have".. and I buy 1 new fish about every 6 monthes or so...

I would personally go for some of the larger central/ South American cichlids. I.e. anything from the parachromis, red divil, Midas, maybe cichla, umbee etc. Arowana would be sweet though. You have my dream tank.
