Identification please

Can I get some clarification on the identification of this fish in the bottom photo: (not my photo)

The fish looks like a leporinus species (doesn’t look like a fasciatus), but could also be a younger distichodus species.
I’m leaning towards a leporinus.

Midwater thank you but it seems like there are many many more bands on that leporinus than the photo I provided. I count 6 in the posted photo.

I was thinking a Distichodus Sexfasciatus.

That fish will typically have thinner bands before transitioning to a grey color.
A banded leporinus would have a more slender body than the pictured fish:

The yellow is also more prevalent at any age IME, though stress can change that.

The fish looks more like an Abramites (Anostomidae), but it looks more slender than the most common species, A. hypselonotus.

The fish in the bottom pictures is a young Leporinus desmotes. A member of the fasciatus group.

I agree with the likeness with L. desmotes, and I stand corrected. Nice looking fish!
