identifiying dats

i am trying to get a datnoid and i requested one and not sure if i got what i wanted,the pattern looks like the pictures ive seen but the colors dont,it is 3 to 4 inches and is like black and tannish brown...does any one have any good websites for pictures of different species of dats...also i think he said it was a asian or thailand dat please help

Unfortunately, black and tannish brown is how most of the dats look when they are stressed out. Here is a pretty good chart for identification purposes.

If the Dat is from Thailand then we can rule out widebar immedietly. most likely a indo and if its not then its a thinbar.

Like Blacktip said, they get dark colored when they are stressed or unhappy. If you can get a pic posted, u should be able to get a positive ID.
