I still have a couple natives that I haven't identified and I wanted to see if you guys could help me out. All of these fish were collected in central Missouri. Also, I included a few better pics that I took with my girlfriend's nicer camera. Her's was the first "real" camera I've ever used, but with a little practice I got some okay shots of the fish. I still have 2 species of unidentified minnows, but I haven't been able to get them to sit still long enough for a good photo yet. I'll upload those when I get some good shots.

First up is an unidentified darter.

Next is a shot of one of my unidentified stonerollers.

Here's an unidentified crayfish.

And a few more good pics since everybody loves pictures.

One of my greenside darters.

My 4" Missouri longear sunfish.

Slender madtom madness.

And a pic of one of my madtoms with an orangethroat darter.

The madtom count is up to six as of today and I might go catch a few more tomorrow since I don't have class. I hope you guys like the photos. It's really fun to sit and watch the fish. My roomate had a birthday party over the weekend and I got a lot of compliments from people who didn't know that there is more than bass and bluegill under the water.

Your first pic looks like a greenside darter,2nd pic is some sort of chubsucker, not sure on cray fish,4th pic is a banded darter, the last pic with darter doesn't quite look like an Orangethroat. What drainage did these all come from?

1st pic - greenside because it has a blunt snout, W's on its side, and red/brown blotches on its side which is what identifies greensides.

2nd pic - this ones tough, it really looks like a lake chub to me but it looks like the fish you got has a sucker mouth so it couldnt be that. could be a lake chubsucker....does it have a rounded dorsal fin?

Last three pics - madtom - looks like a slender madtom which has equal upper n lower jaw, but it could also be a margined madtom if the upper jaw extends further than the lower jaw...

awesome pics, keep em coming. your madtoms are on point bro, i love those

Okay, I busted out The Fishes of Missouri instead of just relying on my memory and you're definitely right about the two darters. I should have remembered the W's for the greenside. The bigger unknown darter is a greenside and the small guys are banded darters. I think my unidentified "stoneroller" is actually a suckermouth minnow. I still need to get some shots of the other stonerollers since they are a different species. The madtoms are definitely slender madtoms. I still need to bust out Crayfish of Missouri and identify the crays. The darter in the last photo is definitely an orangethroat it's just not the best pic. I have three of them and this one has the most faded coloring so I'm assuming it could be a female.

The banded darters, longears, and the Johnny darters were collected in the Maries River south of the Missouri River and the rest are from Silver Fork Creek which is north of the Missouri if that helps at all.
