Can you help me identify these cichlids? These are from a friend whom I'm helping her ID them. We need to know what species the two cichlids are that are underneath the parrotcichlids in the attachment named "fish 2" and then we need to know the species of the cichlid in front of the big round rock in "fish1"
I'm pretty certain about the species in "fish1" picture and I believe that he is a young Green Aequidens rivulatus. But as for the two little cichlids that are underneath the parrotfish, I'm not sure..

Thank you all for any help!

The one under the yellow blood parrot MIGHT be saulosi cichlids. MIGHT! Not sure. Im sure someone will know.

big round rock is indeed a Suam and the blood parot thing, i dont know individual names of those.

In first pic:
Metriaclima lombardoi
Labidochromis caeruleus
Aequidens sp. Gold Saum

In second pic:
Metriaclima estherae
Aulonocara OB hybrid
and if I'm not mistaken a Pseudotropheus socolofi Albino and Melanochromis auratus in the lower left corner.

Thanks very much! ;)

You all have very good suggestions! I wish there was surefire way of identifying african cichlids. There's so many species, color morphs, juvenile color phases, and it doesn't help that many times males and females look completely different and all this makes it just impossible!!!!!!!:nilly:

I think we've got it down pretty good now.

But my friend thinks the golden/yellow fish is a Metriaclima callainos

From what I know, that is a light blue to dark blue fish correct?

I'm so confused!

M. callainos is a solid blue fish.
The yellow/orange fish is M. estherae (red zebra). Possibly an M. estherae x Lab. caeruleus hybrid looking at it longer.

That's what I thought. Maybe it was a typo. I'll let her know....
