It's most likely a FH/Texas hybrid. Honestly there is a good portion of red Texas that are part FH. Either way it is a very nice looking lil girl. Pretty sure it's female from how big it looks and from the lack of any kok but then again being that it's part Texas it could very easily be a male as well. Texas cichlids don't tend to grow much of a kok if at all. But regardless of gender it's a very nice looking fish, great coloration.Hey guys, recently purchased this cichlid, I bought it as a red Texas however it doesn’t seem to be entirely red Texas. I’m think red Texas flowerhorn hybrid?? What do y’all think?

Lol same here. But like I said with the Texas Gene's they tend not to grow much of a kok if at all, even on the males.Nice pick-up! Probably a girl, but then again my female has a nochal hump larger than some males her size.
I agree. None of the Carpintis I had, grew nochal humps.Lol same here. But like I said with the Texas Gene's they tend not to grow much of a kok if at all, even on the males.
I have seen a few that had em but they were always very small ones. I have never seen a Texas with a full blown door knob on his head lol.I agree. None of the Carpintis I had, grew nochal humps.
