Identify This Fish For Me

These guys have been at the petstore for weeks. We had about 4 of them at the beginning but only 2 survived.

I think they look pretty cool.

What are they?

Here's the smaller of the two:

how big is that ive seen fish similar to that labeled tri color shark in the 2-3 inch range

It's not a tricolor shark.

That fish is approximately 2".

I know it's some type of Anostomus sp.

You picked up Anostomus trimaculatus. Grows to about 8". Prefers soft slightly acid water. Omnivorous diet but prefers alot of plant matter. Will accept prepared foods.

BTW, if not offered enough plant matter to graze on, they tend to become fin-nippers.
