Identify this fish please!

I dont have a picture but I did a quick sketch. I caught this fish down on the Oceanside pier, CA. It was about 10 inches long, and no one on the pier could identify it. It had pretty large teeth for its size, a long slender body with little fins, pectoral and dorsal, and its head was very oddly shaped. kind of flat and wide. Anyone know?

dont think it would be a ling cod cuz u said lil fins .... mebe some kinda flathead / lizardfish

Yeah I used to catch lizard fish all the time off that pier .I would bet for sure lizard .
Did have gnarly teeth?

found out it was a CA Iguana Lizard fish. Weird thing! never even heard of them before then. I caught an octopus too. I wanted SOOOOOOOOOOOO bad to take it home but I only have a 29 gallon freshwater
